Woodworking was always around Ryan. His father being a hobbyist woodworker encouraged him to experiment with project scraps at a young age. In high school Ryan fulfilled his practical art requirement by taking the woodworking basics, and advanced woodworking with Mr. Sorenson. Shortly after studying woodworking in high school Ryan’s father built a workshop in the backyard, and filled it with all the necessary tools. Ryan has built various jewelry boxes, picture frames, bowls, and lamps. Ryan’s woodworking style could be described as a merger between a Green and Green craftsmen style and a modern streamlined minimalism. His most impressive woodworking projects are his unique lamps, which combined strict architectural forms with rugged natural elements.
